Holiday season is in full swing! For most of us, this time of year is busy, busy—full of festive parties, gift exchanges, and events. It can be tempting to run out and buy a new outfit for every event. Believe me, I’ve been there and done that! However, now that I’m trying to be more intentional with items I bring into my closet (quality over quantity), I resist the urge to buy a new outfit for every event. Instead, I curate a fancy attire capsule year-round. Because I know I have several options of varying level of fanciness, I know I’ll have something that I love to wear ready to go for any event I get invited to.
Does this sound like a dream come true? Don’t worry, it’s easy! With a small but festive capsule, you’ll be fully prepared for every type of event, without repeating outfits, using just a handful of items. 12 items to be exact.

To give you full mix-and-match potential, make sure the colors and patterns you choose are easy to pair with one another. Remember that the list above isn’t the end-all, be-all. Rather, it’s a guideline you can use as a jumping off point. You can make it your own—for example, if you don’t do blazers, sub in a bomber jacket or a metallic sweater.
